Yugoslavian AKM Type II Bayonet

Used on the 7.62m AKM rifle.

Black polymer handle and scabbard, with a green web retention strap and a leather frog with a brass thorn. Yugoslavian Type II Bayonets are the only AKM bayonet to have a brass thorn on the frog.

Yugoslavian bayonets have the serial number stamped on the scabbard and handle compared to other AKM bayonets like the East German's whose serial numbers are electropenciled on.

Some Yugoslavian Bayonets have a R prefix serial number with indicates that the bayonet has been repaired or reworked. However this has not been confirmed.

Easy way to identify a Yugoslavian Type II is the brass thorn on the frog or the K7 mark electropenciled by the wire cutter of the scabbard.

My bayonet was unissued and came in the original factory condition. It has matching serial numbers which are 622549.
