Bulgarian AK-47 Bayonet (6X2)
Used on the 7.62mm Ak47 Rifle.
The Bulgarian 6x2 bayonet is distinguished most notably by the mottled brown grip scales and perpendicular serial number on the pommel.
Bulgarian bayonets have their frogs secured by two rivets.
the blade is coated in a white/grey finish.
The reason for unusual grip, is due to the fact that when the AK47 was first designed, the bayonet was an after thought. At first it was not designed to even accept a bayonet hence the weird handle shape.
The frog comes in two variants, leather or a webbing version.
Replaced in 1974 by the AKM Type II Bayonet.
